Market Comment The Greek market closed marginally lower –0.1% lower gradually erasing its intrasession gains. Trading volume stood at €276.6m. ETE ended 1.72% higher at €23.01 with 5.9m shares traded. EUROB ended 0.38% at €23.01 with 1.5m shares traded while Alpha Bank closed down 1.71% at €10.36 with 5.9m shares traded. Focus now turns on the results of Bank of Piraeus and Hellenic Petroleum, to be announced tomorrow.
Corporate News EUROB GA /Eurobank, has halved its reliance on European Central Bank funding as its cash position recovers from the worst of the credit crisis. "Thanks to the significant improvement of the group's liquidity at home and abroad, in the last six months Eurobank has markedly reduced its usage of the ECB's liquidity mechanism by 50 percent, by 6 billion euros, the group's deputy chief executive Nikos Karamouzis told Reuters on Tuesday. "Gradually the group is approaching pre-crisis levels of usage," he said.
INLOT GA / In an interview with Reuters, the company’s CEO said Intralot saw earnings stabilize year-on-year in the third quarter and expects the trend to continue as foreign exchange losses recede.
